GOVERNMENT VETERINARY SERVICES (GVS) AT THE LONDON VET SHOW 2024 – 14th and 15th November 2024

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: Government Veterinary Services

Were you at the London Vet Show this year?

We were!

And we had a great time. Talking to almost 170 vets and veterinary services staff, we spread the word on the various meaningful roles of vets in government. We also asked what changes people wanted to see in the legislation via our on-screen Slido.

As one of our many volunteer GVS staff manning the stand said:

“The vet show provided a great opportunity to speak to vets from across the UK about the work we do in Government. It was a very busy conference with lots of people stopping by to ask about working in the Civil Service or for advice on a wide range of issues including disease controls, veterinary medicines, and trade”.

Examples of government vet roles include:
• Animal disease surveillance
• Field inspection
• Regulation
• Border control
• Animal disease research
• Policy advisors
• Chief Veterinary Officers, Veterinary Directors
… and more
